Black "T" Custom

"I’ve owned at least a dozen pre-CBS Fender Telecasters and Strats. At least twice as many Custom Shop, boutique, and luthier builds. The guitar that Lewis built for me is a standout. It’s the finest F-style guitar that I’ve owned. Lewis used a selection of hand picked roasted tone woods as the starting point. When combined with his respect for vintage instruments but desire for modern precision, it resulted in a guitar that truly sounds as good as the best vintage ones. But unlike those crotchety old instruments, it plays as well as guitars built by the best small batch ultra-exclusive luthiers." - Matt W.

Builder's Choice: Wide Fade Burst

"My tele is obviously a looker! The wide burst body spray, and light relic is outstanding.

The fretboard is a deep rich dark colour. The wood grain, and oil finish on the back of the neck is outstanding. You won't find that on the wall at your big box music shop! The frets are dressed perfectly, and the side dot markers are easy to spot.

The neck profile is a treat to play.  For me, it sits "just right" in my palm.  Total weight is very comfortable to play for hours. And the balance is perfect.

The pickups are custom wound by McNelly for ECGC.  They are low output, and are a remarkably quiet single coil.  I'm that guy that hates single coil buzz (or any extra noise), so that's saying a lot.

Last weekend, I got to play it out at a jam through a Deluxe Reverb.  It blended nicely, and cut through when it needed to.  A couple of friends played it too.  Both had to stop, turn to me, and say 'wow, this is really nice!'.  I highly recommend East City Guitar Co!" - Blair F.

Sage Ultralight Thinline

"Exceptionally precise and detailed build quality and top-notch electronics (McNelly pickups). I was in the market for a non-nitrocellulose finish T-style thin-line with a humbucker in the neck position. I have owned factory-made teles by Fender and G&L, but the sage Tele that I purchased from Lewis is in a different class altogether. Tonally, the guitar has a pronounced and beautiful acoustic resonance that also comes through when amplified. This is a rare quality in a thin-line tele, and is probably due to the roasted sitka body and perhaps the roasted maple neck. The neck feel and playability are excellent, in part due to the oil and wax finish. Finally, the guitar is “handsome” and exceptionally light, weighing in at around 5 lbs. Overall, this is a really fun and comfortable guitar to play, and it cost significantly less than similar guitars made by other luthiers." - Luis S.

'Melted Creamsicle' Solidbody 'Thinline'

"I keep forgetting to tune it because it is so stable. I think the best thing you can say about an instrument is that you pick it up and kind of forget it's there leaving more room for your brain to focus on the music. That's how I feel about this guitar, I'm not fighting any physical difficulties, just playing what's in my head. It helps that it looks great too.

In terms of workmanship I gave my guitar to an experienced guitar tech who looked it over and gave it back to me saying I was a lucky man to own such a nice instrument. Lewis obviously cares about his craft to a level that is hard to appreciate until you look over the instrument closely. The tones from the McNelly Pickups are great and more importantly in line with the sound I had in my head." - Roger F.

Shell Pink LP - 's'

"The new Strat has significantly enhanced my playing experience. The neck feels incredibly smooth and comfortable, allowing for effortless movement up and down the fretboard. The balance and weight of the guitar are just right, making it easy to play for long periods without fatigue. The action and setup was perfect, which made it easy to play (still holds up months later).

I would highly recommend Lewis' guitars to anyone. The combination of excellent craftsmanship, exceptional tone, and personalized service makes his instruments stand out. I've tried many custom shop Strats in the past (many more expensive than Lewis') and I haven't enjoyed them as much as my guitar from Lewis. If you're looking for a guitar that meets and exceeds expectations, Lewis is your guy!" - Keenan S.
