I'm Lewis, the builder behind East City Guitar Co., and I'm glad you're here. Crafting these guitars is not just a job for me – it's a passion. As a small business owner in Peterborough, Ontario, I personally oversee every aspect, from building to responding to your emails, and taking the beautiful photos you see here.

What sets my guitars apart is my dedication to excellence. Drawing on my experience as a serious player, I prioritize both aesthetics and playability. Unlike many big name guitars, mine don't require any additional setup or fretwork to play well; they're ready to go from day one. I've carefully curated a vintage-inspired aesthetic that still maintains its distinct identity within the classic "T" style.

Quality is at the core of what I do. I use only the lightest torrefied body woods and roasted maple for necks. Instead of nitro finished necks, I opt for a meticulous hand-rubbed oil and wax finish, ensuring each guitar feels simultaneously new and familiar.

The nitro finish on the bodies feature some checking, and are lightly distressed, because these guitars are built to be played. They age gracefully, embracing the marks of a well-lived musical journey.
